Regulatory Compliance

If you own a company, you need to protect your intellectual property, such as your brand, marks and logo. Not only do legal marks protect your brand, logo design and website domain name, but it also gives your business credibility. Typically, preparation of an application is made to protect your symbol in a specific country or region. Federal trademark registration protects your brand from being used by anyone else, anywhere in the United States of America.

Registering a trademark begins with searching to ensure a trademark is not already registered or similar to another. Our lawyers assist with a federal trademark search and/or comprehensive federal, state, common law, and internet domain name search. We will evaluate the various filing options and make recommendations regarding the registration of your mark. We will also evaluate over 40 international classes before deciding the best classification for your trademark. Once an application is filed, the pending registration grants you certain rights from the date of filing. It could take from six months to over a year for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to register your mark. You may also be required to respond to Office Actions you may receive from the USPTO before your application can be approved.

We also offer additional services such as litigation and pre-litigation for disputes regarding intellectual property or assignment agreements for intellectual property transfers.
